St. John Core Meal Instructions

Location: 1st United Methodist Church - 807 E. 1st. Ave., St. John, KS 67576
The Routine
5:00 p.m. – Doors Open – Please unload food at the back door, then park your vehicle. Set up the kitchen’s pass-through window for a buffet-style meal. More info on setup below.

5:30 p.m. – Meal Begins – After serving firsts, we ask you take time to eat and enjoy the company.

6:15 p.m. – Clean-up Begins – We will close the kitchen window and doors, wash serving utensils, wipe down counters, and put everything away. Dishtowels, soap, and drying cloths are provided.

We are usually finished cleaning and free to go by 6:30~6:45 p.m.
Preparation
​
If you are not a church, please bring only the meal and servers. Tableware is provided.
​
Already Provided by Core & 1st UMC: serving/cutting utensils, disposable tableware (paper plates, bowls, cups, etc.), plasticware (forks, spoons, etc.), napkins, ice water, and pitchers
Churches, we ask if able, please bring plasticware and disposable tableware (Ex. plates, bowls, cups, etc.). We have plenty of napkins at the moment, so no need to bring those.
The Meal: Main meal, side dish(es), dessert
Servers: 3-4 people to serve and help with clean-up

Group Size to Prepare for:
The first Monday of the Month (Core Friends Night) = 25 people
Following Mondays (Weekly Meetings) = 23 people
*These numbers include all Core Leaders, children, Core Friends and Staff. Please add the number of servers you plan to bring to the initial servings number.
